Whiskey Smoke 808 is a barbecue restaurant tucked along Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe, offering a solid dose of smokehouse flavor that feels a bit rare on the island. The spot has a relaxed, approachable vibe where locals and visitors alike come for generous portions of truly smoky, satisfying barbecue. The menu leans heavily into classic barbecue staples with a Hawaiian twist—brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and an array of smoked sides like mac and cheese and baked beans that clearly get the same low-and-slow treatment as the meats.

The atmosphere is casual but thoughtful, often buzzing with a steady flow of people who appreciate hearty, authentic barbecue. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in comfortably for a laid-back meal after a day outdoors or meet up with friends craving something rich and flavorful. Staff here tend to be knowledgeable and helpful, guiding guests to the right portion sizes or sauces to balance their plates without overwhelming the smoky core.

Many patrons seem to gravitate toward crowd-pleasers like the brisket plate, pulled pork sandwiches, or their standout smoked wings. For those eager to try a little bit of everything, the all-meat plate offers a generous spread that captures the essence of their pitmaster skills. The sides are not just filler here—the smoked mac and cheese and garlic parmesan fries each carry an unmistakable depth from the barbecue smoke that anchors the meal.

Whiskey Smoke 808 is well-suited for anyone from island locals looking for a reliably good barbecue fix to visitors keen on tasting Hawaiian barbecue that’s less polished but more authentic and heartily seasoned than typical tourist fare. Evening visits tend to capture a livelier energy, but lunchtime crowds appreciate the steady, unhurried service and filling plates.

Overall, it’s a spot best enjoyed when you’re hungry for something smoky, saucy, and substantial, with a side of friendly guidance from the team behind the counter. If you’re craving barbecue that feels honest and unpretentious, Whiskey Smoke 808 delivers a taste of the slow-cooked good life right in Kaneohe.

This place meets all the Smokey heart smoke house feels for their AAA+ BBQ! This is my first time here. And one bite of their Dino Beef Rib with smoked Mac n Cheese with smoked saucy baked beans. I also got a side of cold slaw and a side of lamb chops which I will be missing until the next time. I love the picked jalapenos and onions which was so thinly slice right next to my Dino beef bone helps cut thru the chops of the fatty rib and the lamb. Here’s to Meggle’s for the Iced lemon Cake! DELICIOUS! My only suggestion is create a collar green side dish and offer some Texas toast or a Molokai Bread to sop up the fat and bbq sauce. Order a piece of Megans lemon cake.

Not going to lie, probably the best BBQ we've had on the island since moving here. My husband and I first tried this place at the Tattoo Expo in town and it hit the spot! We've been back twice now since the expo and it just gets better. You can't go wrong with their burgers, pork ribs, brisket, or Mac & cheese!!! Highly recommend trying their desserts, especially their banana pudding. Staff is friendly and the young lady who makes desserts is always checking in us. Make sure to support her and this business!

As someone raised on Southern BBQ, I've been searching for a place on the island that matches that standard, and I finally found it here! The BBQ is exceptional, worth the drive from the North Shore every time. Beyond the food, the family who runs it makes the experience even better with their kindness and hospitality.

Look, it is Hawaii it's not like we have a huge traditional BBQ scene. However as someone from the south the food here is delicious, reasonably priced and manly sized portions. I come here fairly regularly and will continue to do so. This time I went with the ribs, smoked beans and smoked Mac. Was fantastic

Really enjoyed the visit to whiskey smoke 808 for the first time. The waiter was really wise and walked us through the menu like a pro. Definitely got us the right size portions based on steering us in the right direction. I had the pork and brisket tacos. Both were great. I tried the guava bbq sauce also it was nice and had a good like twang to it. The mac and cheese was so great and you could taste the smoke. Really Enjoyed the meal and service. Not a ton of seating so probably best to get in early. The pit master was nice enough to show us some of the meats being smoked. Great family and people! I’d come back and think it’s some of the best bbq on Oahu! Mahalo!

I’m a vegetarian and I LOVED this stop. Sure, my husband loved the meat—my husband loved the brisket sandwich, it looked like juicy goodness. And I LOVED their sides. The fries were just the right crispy texture and their coleslaw was fresh and flavorful. Their sweet potato casserole was mouth watering! Loved love love it all. OH and to top it off, Meggled Browned butter tres leches cake was perfection. Thank you!
